School Support Services
Spectrum works with public and private schools to support neurodivergent students and the educators who serve them. Services may include consultation, staff training, behavior support, social communication programming, and related services based on the needs of the student or school.
Our team can work with educators, administrators, related service providers, and families when appropriate.
Supporting Neurodivergent Students
Spectrum has experience supporting students with:
- Autism
- ADHD and attention differences
- Non-Verbal Learning Differences (NVLD)
- Social communication differences
- Executive function needs
School consultation is based on the needs of the student, classroom, and educational team. Services may be provided on an ongoing basis or for a specific concern, program, or training need.
Our School-Based Support Services
Behavior Analysis
Our Behavior Specialists can work with school teams to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), identify factors contributing to behavior, and develop Behavior Support Plans that can be used in the classroom.
Services may also include staff training, modeling, consultation, and follow-up support to assist with implementation.
Student and Program Support
Spectrum’s Education and Behavior Specialists can provide consultation when a student, classroom, or program requires additional support.
This may include observing the current environment, identifying contributing factors, developing practical strategies, and helping staff implement changes that support student participation and classroom functioning.
Social Skills Instruction
Spectrum can help schools develop or expand social communication and social learning programs.
Services may include:
- Developing or implementing social learning curricula based on student needs
- Providing direct instruction to students
- Training school staff to implement programs independently
- Consultation regarding group structure, materials, and instructional strategies
In-Home & Community Training
When educational or behavioral support is needed outside of the classroom, Spectrum may provide related or supplementary services in home and community settings.
These services can be coordinated with the student’s educational team when appropriate to support consistency across settings.
Recreation Therapy
Our Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) may provide:
- Evaluations and Individualized Education Program (IEP) recommendations
- Direct recreation therapy services
- Consultation and staff training related to recreation therapy
