Teale Janysek
Teale joined Spectrum Social and Recreation Services in 2018 as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), working closely with clients in the community while pursuing her Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credentials. Her passion for helping others has been a driving force since a young age, and it was during her undergraduate studies in Therapeutic Recreation that she discovered her true calling in the helping profession.
During her time at Oklahoma State University, Teale became fascinated by the brain and its complexities, which led her to pursue counseling as a career. After obtaining her CTRS certification in 2012, she gained diverse experience across various settings, including Memory Care, Community-Based Physical Rehabilitation, Inpatient Psychiatric Care, and Outpatient Med-Psych services. This exposure allowed Teale to work with individuals of all ages, from children to older adults, and provided her with valuable insight into a wide range of diagnoses and life challenges.
Teale earned her Master’s degree in Human Relations with an emphasis in counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2016. Following graduation, she transitioned into full-time therapy work at Spectrum in 2019, where she completed her counseling internship and became a fully licensed therapist in the Fall of 2021.
With a deep understanding of family systems, Teale is skilled in helping clients navigate the emotional and social challenges that arise throughout life. She is particularly passionate about assisting individuals in breaking down personal barriers and supporting them through transitions. Teale believes in the power of storytelling and takes great joy in learning about her clients’ experiences, striving to meet them where they are on their journey.
Teale’s approach to therapy is grounded in creating a trusting and supportive relationship with each client, helping them feel safe enough to explore their strengths and work toward achieving their personal goals. Her warm, empathetic, and collaborative style fosters an environment where clients can grow and thrive.
