No. We do not require a prescription or referral from a medical provider, however your insurance company may require this for reimbursement or you may need one if you are using a tax-favored health savings account so please check with your provider.

No. Our instructional and therapeutic models are designed to support persons with social communication challenges but we find they are very effective for many people including those with high anxiety, sensory processing disorder, and other social related challenges. We are happy to discuss your exact needs to determine if our instructional and therapeutic models may benefit you.

That is a complicated question and the answer varies depending on the insurance company, your coverage and the services you are receiving. To help you, we have put together our best knowledge of insurance and other funding options that may help cover services.  We highly recommend you contact your insurance provider and confirm specifics.  We are happy to help answer any questions we can in your efforts to procure funding.  Here you can find our most current knowledge – Funding Options for Services

Spectrum does not file or bill insurance companies directly. We only accept direct payments from clients and pre-approved agencies who have submitted a purchase order or other signed agreement to fund services.

Spectrum provides invoices (superbills) to clients with coding, provider information and other details most insurance companies request when processing reimbursement requests. We happily work with you to answer any requests for additional information from your insurance company.

There are many reasons we have decided to not take insurance, and our clients’ needs are at the top of the list. Reasons we have declined to accept insurance include:

  • Improved Services for our Clients: Most insurance companies have policies regarding diagnosis requirements, treatment limits, and approved modalities of treatments. Through private pay, we are able make recommendations based on your needs and set appropriate goals, length of treatment and treatment modality.
  • Savings for our Clients: We are able to charge less for our services because we don’t spend valuable hours on insurance paperwork nor do we have staff hired solely for the purpose of managing insurance payments, billings and forms.

Again, we are happy to work with you to seek reimbursement through your insurance company but will not bill them or accept payments from your insurance company for services provided.

Yes. We can discuss our current class schedule whenever a session is already in progress. If we are in enrollment phase for a new session however we often simply don’t know what the schedule will be. Our enrollment process does not consist merely of setting a class time and age for each group and letting students enroll freely. We believe to make the most progress and benefit from the social group experience, it is imperative that groups have students who are similar in acquired skills, needed skills and performance levels as well as age, language abilities and many other factors. We realize this makes our enrollment process a bit complicated but we believe it is worth the work to create dynamic learning groups.
